 During the fall, it's not only the trees that are ablaze with orange. The Mille Lacs area is "home" to many hunters who come north to set their sights on white-tailed deer, ruffled grouse, waterfowl, Canadian geese, and bear. The 39,156 acre Mille Lacs Wildlife Management Area is home to 50 mammal and 200 bird species. In addition, Mille Lacs Hunting Lodge hunting preserve is a short drive away.
