Mille Lacs Summer and Fall Outlook.
Ice fishing has pretty much wound down to a close here on Mille Lacs. While our winter season was short it was good, lots of Walleye action, the Jumbo Perch showed up in good numbers, and plenty of trophy sized Pike! There was enough action here to keep any angler happy. On the snowmobiling side we could have used more snow, we’re erring on the positive and thinking mother nature is saving up powder in excess for next season.
Trails will open for ATV’s April 1, 2016. We still have some cabins and condos open for Memorial Weekend, plenty of ATV and trailer parking with convenient trail access right from your front door! Rent a cabin or condo, bring your family and friends, hit the trails! All of our condos have gas grills and fire pits for an easy and relaxing evening after a great ride.
This summer promises some great fishing action on Mille Lacs. While we won’t be doing much on the keeping end for Walleye, the catching should be phenomenal. We saw lots of healthy Walleye in 22-30″ range caught and released this winter and the lake is still holding that booming 2013 year class that were found almost anywhere you could drill a hole.
Mille Lacs also has an exciting season coming up for Smallmouth Bass. Mille Lacs will hold many bass tournaments this summer that will be great for the area and help bring publicity to the world class fishery we have here. Check out our events page for tournament listings and dates. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better lake with the quality trophy population we have of Smallmouth Bass.
It also isn’t too early to start planning some summer fun. We’ll have some exciting offerings this summer for launches and lodging so don’t forget to check back often, we’ve also added Instagram to our list of social media connections do feel free to give us a follow. We promise lots of great fish and sunset photos that make Mille Lacs so famous! Our summer weekends are starting to fill up for, if you have dates in mind be sure to give us a call.
