Mille Lacs Fishing on Fire!
We are well into another week of fantastic fishing. The bass bite has been phenomenal! Guide clients have been boating personal bests in the Smallie department all week. The Walleye action has also remained good. Anglers are getting fish both deep and shallow with a variety of tactics and techniques. No matter what your preferred style, its been easy to get the Walleye action going. Calm days see a more productive bite deeper or during low-light hours. Windy days are great for looking shallow. If you’re chasing toothy Pike or Muskie the bays and weeds have been the spot to start. Spinner baits and bucktails have been the go-to choices with some reports of top water baits producing action too.
The ATV trails are in great condition. If you’re itching to get out and hit the trails, now would a great time. The weather has been fairly mild and the local Driftskippers have been hard at work keeping the trails maintained. Weekends see more traffic than weekdays right now. The weather is supposed to be fantastic this weekend. Perfect for hitting the water or visiting the beach at near-by Father Hennepin.
